It was found that on the mucous membrane of the uterus of rabbits there are pale scars caused by intimate connection of the foetal cover with the endometrium of the uterus. Their number coincides with the number of foetuses of the last litter. These scars have a width of 0.4 to 0.6 cm, on the external wall of foetus corners a width of 0.4 to 0.5 cm. The scars can be identified from the fourth to the thirty-third day after littering. Various pathological anomalies conceal the visibility of scars. The results show that it would be appropriate to investigate creation and duration of pale and dark scars and, if necessary, the mummification of embryos and foetuses of female rabbits and female hares.
