Gypsophila paniculata L. seedlings were cultured on a modified Vacin and Went (1949) (VWm) containing BA at 0.25 mg/l., pH was at 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0. It was found that the fresh weight was highest at pH 4.0 and lowest at pH 5.0. The dry weight was highest at pH 4.0 and lowest at pH 4.5. The degree of succulence varied from treatment to treatment, based on the stem's moisture content. The seedlings of Gypsophila paniculata L. contained the lowest moisture content at pH 5.0, while the seedlings grown on the medium with pH 4.0 contained the highest moisture content. With regard to multiple shoot formation, the highest number of shoots was observed when it was grown on the pH 4.0 medium, while at pH 5.0 a fair number of shoots was observed. The result suggested that the medium at pH 5.0 was the best for growing Gypsophila paniculata L. in aseptic culture. For best pretransplant results, plantlets should have least succulence and optimal number of shoots.
