Two experiments on groundnut agronomic management under highland conditions were conducted. These were: (1) intercropping groundnut with upland rice, sweet corn, and soybean and (2) planting date study of 6 groundnut varieties. The results indicated that intercropping groundnut with upland rice and sweet corn resulted in higher efficiency of land utilization than did sole cropping, giving land equivalent ratio (LER) of 1.32 and 1.24, respectively. Early planting of groundnut in mid-March to mid-April would allow the crop to escape leaf disease infection, and thus provide better pod yield than late planting.
