Salinomycin signifiantly increased the nitrogen retention of young lambs, the productive utilization of protein and the apparent digestibility of protein. Salinomycin lowered blood serum urea level and the total amino acid nitrogen content. Flavomycin scarcely made a shade of difference in these parameters. In fattening trial Avoparcin and Salinomycin raised the daily average weight gain by 7 per cent, Flavomycin raised it by 11 per cent; feed intake per kg gain was reduced by 19 per cent (Avoparcin), 8 per cent (Salinomycin) and by 4 per cent (Flavomycin) respectively.
