[Comparative trials on pathogenicity of four strains of Beauveria bassiana]. [Chinese]
1987
Li Hongke
Strains of Beauveria bassiana A isolated from Nephotettix cincticeps, B and E from Nilaparvata lugens amd F from Chilo suppressalis cultured in potato-agar-glucose had their spores similar in size (2.7-3.2 microm) and in development. Strain E and B caused a significant higher mortality (75.7 and 55.9%) to N. lugens than A and B did (73.3 and 34.3%, resp.) while the mortality of N. cincticeps infected by A was 96.4% and by the other 3 were similar, 90-92%. Strain F killed 81.5% infected larvae of C. suppressalis, which was significant higher than those killed by the other 3 (57.6, 56.3 and 48.5%, resp.) Therefore, A and E were 2 strains for effective control of N cincticeps and N. lugens.
