On the record of Urnatella gracilis (Kamptozoa) in East Slovakia, with remarks on its ecology and geographical distribution.

In potamoplankton samples of the river Tisza (East Slovakia) Urnatella gracilis, the only extant freshwater representative of Kamptozoa (= Entoprocta) was identified. The morphological characteristics of the colonies from the river Tisza are presented and the species' geographical distribution is discussed. It is suggested that there is no unambiguous evidence testifying that U. gracilis spread from North America to other continents only recently.
