The results showed that the applied protective measures and increasing doses of nitrogen demonstrated beneficial influence on general yield as well as on the share of big tubers. Regression analysis of the samples from the plots without protective treatments disclosed a negative correlation (r=-0.316) between fertilization and the content of specific fraction and with a positive correlation (r=0.158) in the case of edible varieties. Protective measures enhanced the effect of increasing doses of nitrogen on the yield of big tubers.
