Eighty six primiparas were fed on roughages-based diets with 35% or 6% concentrates. The milk yield of cows representing dairy type (crossbred F1) was higher than the yield of dual-purpose (Black-and-White breed) cows. A higher difference was recorded in the F1 crossbred cows on the higher feeding level than on the lower level. Higher differences were observed between feeding regimes. The difference between tested genotypes was getting smaller with lactations. The milk fat content did not differ significantly between genotypes but it was significantly influenced by feeding regime.
