Agrartechnik und Umwelt bei steigender Mechanisierung der Landwirtschaft in den Tropen und Subtropen.
1991
Krause R.
Increased technology inputs in agricultural production are not undisputed. Technology means greater dependency and risks and generates far-reaching primary and secondary impacts, also in socio-economic and ecological fields. Thus, the aim of ecologically appropriate measures is to guarantee large and high-quality yields in the long term whilst ensuring that the production method is environmentally sound. Examples from soil conservation, waste management in animal husbandry/ farm manure and plant protection show that the technical solutions offering an ecologically acceptable and yet intensive means of production are, unfortunately, often expensive and complex irrespective of the level of mechanisation.
