The barley variety 'Leelo' (breed 2319.2.4) has been obtained from the crossing: breed 1109.2 ('Ansgar' x Sv. 2552.2) x 'Elo' in 1985. Since 1995 it has been included into State Testing. The variety belongs to var. erectum. Leelo has high and stable yield, very good lodging resistance and big kernel. Kernels of 'Leelo' are 11 % bigger and homogeneity is 19 % higher than in the variety 'Elo'. Protein content (11,9 %) is lower than others. The variety 'Leelo' is suitable for feed and food.
