They noted the characteristics of seed-germination, emergence, growth, anthesis, ripening of the fruit, dissemination and time between the different stages of the cycle. Furthermore histoanatomic and morphometric research was carried out on various organs. The research on the biological cycle allowed the following conclusion to be drawn: (a) the seeds germinate between 5 deg and 30 deg C providing they are scratched; (b) the emergence is almost continued from March to October; (c) the anthesis occurs from the May (20-30) to the first ten days, of September; (d) the ripening of the capsules takes place 55-60 days after flowering; (e) each time that it is destroyed, the vegetation above ground level forms new shoots from the rhizome. The research oh the histoanatomic organization ascertained that the rhizome originated from foreign shoots situated in the middle area and top of the taproot. Morphometric research has revealed a great variability in the various organs but not sufficient to allow the subdivision of the species into subspecific categories.
