Rice germplasm consisting of three coarse cultivars IR-6, KS-133 and KS-282, and six fine cultivars Bas-198, Bas-2000, Bas-Kernel, Bas-Super, Bas-370 and Bas-385 collected from PRIKSK (Sheikhupura, Pakistan) were screened for the source of resistance against Bakanae disease. For the purpose of field screening of rice germplasm, inoculum of Fusarium moniliforme was prepared from the previous year's infected rice panicles by the germination of fungus on PDA medium. The fungus was then isolated and mass culture on wheat grains. The field soil was infested with the spore suspension of Fusarium moniliforme. According to the disease rating scale two varieties (IR-6 and KSK-133) were resistant, three varieties (Bas-Pak/kernel, Bas-198 and Bas-370) were found to be moderately resistant, two varieties (Bas-385 and Bas-Super) were susceptible. In poisoned food technique, efficacy of Topsin-M, Derosal and Daconil was found best with no mycelial growth of fungus. Least impact was observed in the case of Aliette.
