Among multipurpose functions of the Basic Channel Network of the Danube-Tisa-Danube Hydrosystem (BCN Hs DTD) is also acceptance of used water of settlements, industry and agriculture. The wastewater flows into the BCN either directly or through some sections of the Detailed Channel Network (DCN). Since the most of channels of the DCN represent waste water recipients nowadays, the study of water self-purification has enormous importance. The aim of this paper was to determine the level of water self-purification on the selected sections of DCN, which should use as the basis of mode for simulation, accordingly, the needing for level of waste water purification of some polluters before engaging. The paper represents the results of water quality analysis of the DCN for Vrbas-channel KC-III drainage system and Zitiste-Z slaughter channel drainage system, as well as calculations of critical time which are necessary to achieve a minimum oxygen content in channel water.
