As basic material factor of economic and social development, investments in assets represent condition for employment growth, more effective performances of used tools, better productivity, diversity of production, etc. In observed period (1999-2008.), Lajkovac municipality was characterized by low investment in agricultural assets, as well as in whole economy (regardless of whether it is activity of replacement, reconstruction or extension of existing, or building of new facilities). This under- investment is primarily result of constant lack of financial assets (internal and external) that are necessary for investment projects financing. Additionally, during the period 1999-2000 and 2003-2008 in Lajkovac municipality was not realized any investment in assets in agriculture. In paper were analyzed investments in assets, both at regional and national level. Accordingly, research included a several years investment trend in agriculture of Lajkovac municipality and characteristics of the investment process in agriculture at the territory of Kolubara region, Central Serbia and whole Republic. Also, it was presented the estimation of realized investments in agriculture in Lajkovac municipality, Kolubara region, Central Serbia and whole Republic.
