During the last century, since 70s, was present progressive degradation of brown hare population in the region of central Serbia. Ministry of Republic of Serbia with its regulations, organize and direct the hunting associations and hunting as production industry and introduces the execution of production plan of shooting the 1950th year. Production plan determine shooting quotas for the sale of meat in favor of the Hunting Club, and the number of brown hares for the personal use of members. On average, each hunter had nine brown hares per year. Gross price of hunted brown hare for meat in 1955 was 650 S per ton. But in the 70s the question of excessive shooting plans and exports and the need for rehabilitation of disturbed abundance brown hares population was asked. Capacity off hunting grounds in central Serbia for the brown hares was 1.3 million units, but a real number in the field was about 300,000 hares. Achievement of common goal of protecting and increasing the number of brown hare populations, implies the necessity of introducing and applying the original scientific method of determining the degree of growth and the rational way of management and use of all hunting areas in Serbia. This kind of work and management on the basis of established real growth and density of brown hare populations in Vojvodina given for the last 44 years (introduced in the 1967th year and is still used) excellent results. Therefore, we suggest that this mode of operation for use in all hunting areas – in all of Serbia which would be in charge of agricultural and veterinary extension services, equipped and link throughout the territory of the republic.
