The paper explains the application possibilities of renewable energy in agriculture. Two typical ways of irrigation system design and possibilities of application of solar photovoltaic energy (PV) systems and wind energy are demonstrated here. System design forced by wind power, system design forced by solar energy, and system design forced by combination of both sources of energy are analyzed. For the first two systems detailed calculations of required power and energy are made.
