Zlatica river is shallow canal. It is part of the Hydrosystem DTD in Banat. The vascular flora of Zlatica comprises 74 taxa. Out of total number of detected taxa, 43 are hydrophytes (8 floating, 9 submersed and 26 emersed plants). Among them, there are 4 adventive, 6 invasive and 10 Tertiary relicts. According to the World Programme the Global Invasive Species program of the World Conservation Union species Myriphyllum spicatum and Trapa natans are invasive species of global significance, and species Ceratophyllum demersum, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae, Najas minor, Potamogeton crispus and Trapa natans are invasive species for Europe region. In Zlatica river, near Crna Bara village, Symphytum officinale var. ochroleucum was detected. This is its first finding in Banat. To preserve one aquatic ecosystem, such as studied, and its flora is necessary to monitoring its flora and its ongoing maintenance by taking the necessary measures to protect endangered species to preserve biodiversity.
