Corylus avellana L. is difficult to propagate vegetativly using shoot cuttings or grafting. In vitro micropropagation has become a successful technique for rapid production of large number of many plant cultivars. The limiting factor for hazelnut has been poor in vitro shoot multiplication and high contamination because of structure of hazelnut buds. We present a satisfactory system for micropropagation of C. avellana. Initial growth of explants was performed on MS/2 medium. For shoot multiplication and elongation MS medium was supplemented with BAP (0.1 mg/L) and NAA (0.1 mg/L) while rooting of produced shoots were performed on MS medium with NAA (1 mg/L).
