During the past twenty years, production of fruits and vegetables was intensified in order to meet needs of the market for quality and quantity, and make the production more profitable for growers. A number of insect pests on fruit trees and vegetable have occurred at high abundance thus representing large problem in crop production during the past ten years. These include economically important pests such as aphids (Aphididae) and plum fruit moth (Cydia funebrana) on fruit trees, and greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) on vegetables. The effects of acetamiprid (Volley 20 SP) on some pests of fruit trees (C. funebrana and Aphis pomi) and T. vaporariorum, a polyphagous pest on several vegetable crops (tomato pepper, cucumber, zucchini) over the period 2009-2011 are shown in this study. Acetamiprid showed high efficacy in the control of the above mentioned pests, ranging from 88% in the control of T. vaporariorum to 100% of A. pomi, in field conditions.
