Monitoring and evaluation of development projects in South East Asia : the experience of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand

This study discusses the monitoring and evaluation (M/E) practices of the governments in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. It also contains a brief investigation into the M/E practices of the nongovernmental organizations. The report has been prepared in two parts: 1) overview of the South East Asian M/E, and 2) country reports. While scrutinizing the M/E systems of these countries, an overall assessment of their development management systems, arrangements for planning and implementation of development projects, and an assessment of their annual budgeting systems were also made.
