Component 2 conserves critical habitats and species and improves the long-term management of Senegal's network of coastal protected areas. Component 2 includes two sub-components: Managing ecosystems in three pilot areas and strengthening the biodiversity conservation framework. Component 3 finances program management, monitoring and evaluation, and communication. It includes monitoring implementation against indicators, periodic independent evaluations, supporting the cross-sectoral structures in the pilot intervention areas to ensure coordination among various implementing agencies, and developing and implementing a communication plan to ensure the flow o f necessary information to and from stakeholders on project activities.
