This paper contains the proceedings of a seminar designed to help senior executives and policy makers in Islamic Development Bank (IDB) member countries examine the problems and issues related to debt management and to explore the means to alleviate these problems. The countries that took part in the seminar differed both as to their stage in development and their debt management problems. Seminar topics covered a wide area of common concern including : finance for development; organization for debt management; debt information systems; use of computers in debt management; macroeconomic policy issues; and debt renegotiation.
