Influence of composted rice straw treated by Trichoderma sp, fungi on rice yield, rice soil fertility and economic effectiveness in summer _ autumn 2010 in the Mekong delta

Influence, there is an approximately amount rice straw to an extent of 20 million ton which are burnt or released directly to the canal or river leading to environmental pollution in the Mekong delta. The rice straw source has not yet used to apply for rice crop while it can supply organic matter and improve soil fertility. In the above context, the objectives of this aimed to study the influence of composted rice straw treated by Trichoderma sp, fungi on rice yield, rice soil fertility and economic effectiveness. The research was conducted through from 04/2010 to 09/2010 in Summer - Autumn, 2010 at Long Kien village, Cho Moi district, An Giang province. The experiment was designed in a randomized by Trichoderma sp. application of composted rice straw by Trichoderma sp; burnt rice straw combined with inorganic NPK fertilizer from 0, 70, 100% (100N - 60 P2O5 - 30 K2O kg/ha). Under application of composted rice paddy straw by trichoderma sp. conjunction with 70% NPK (equal to 70 N - 42 P2O5 - 21 K2O kg/ha), the grain yield obtained as 5.05 ton/ha equally as of the highest benefit cost ratio (B/C) recorded as of 2.10. The nutrient content in the rice soil viz, organic carbon, available N, P and exchangeable K also was improved significantly as compared to the conventional application by the farmers' dose (burnt rice straw 100% (199 N - 60 P2O5 - 30 K2 O kg/ha). From the above result showed that under application of composted rice straw by Trichoderma sp, conjunction with 70% (equal to 70 N - 42 P2O5 - 21 K2O kg/ha) could be partly contributed in reducing about 30% inorganic fertilizer cost, increased grain yield, benefit cost ratio and improve soil fertility.
