Sound Localization by Fish: Mechanisms and Models
1998
Popper, Arthur N. | Fay, Richard R. | Shamma, Shihab
The objectives of this work have been to develop a better understanding of the physiology and functional organization of the auditory periphery in fishes and to determine their ability to perform sound source localization. These results can potentially be applied to developing better computational models to help elucidate the methods by which fishes detect and process low-frequency acoustic signals.
