Using HEC-1 on a Personal Computer

This document describes how to use the HEC-1, 'Flood Hydrograph Package,' on the personal computer (PC). It does not describe how to perform a hydrologic investigation. An overview of how the program is installed on the PC is provided; but, the reader is referred to the separate installation instructions for the full explanation on loading HEC-1 onto the PC. This training document (No. 32) describes how to use the menu program to: select files; use COED to create and edit files; execute HEC-1; and view, graph, and print the results. Use of the HECDSS (Data Storage System) to generate report quality graphics and use of an interactive input program (HEC-IIN) to generate input data are also described.
