T hese arc: forked leng th. pr e-d o rsal len gth a nd do rsa l fin ba se. توجد ثلاثة أنواع من أسماك عائلة Centracanthidae في المياه المصرية للبحر المتوسط وهي : سبيكارا فلوكوزا Spicara flexuosa وسبيكارا سمارس Spicara smaris وسبيكارا مينا Spicara maena . ومن مقارنةالصفات المورفومترية للأنواعالثلاثة باستخدام التحليل الإحصائي ( Covariance ) ود أن هناك عشر صفات مورفومترية يمكن الرجوعإليها عند التمييز بين نوعي فلوكوزا وسمارس وهي : الطول المشقوق ـ الطول القياسي ـ طول الراس ـ طول قاعدة الزعنفة الظهرية ـ طول ما قبل الزعنفة الصدرية ـ طول ما قبل الزعنفة البطنية ـ طول ما قبل الزعنفة الشرجية ـ عمق الجسم ـ طول المسافة خلف العين ـ وحجم العين. وعند مقارنة الصفات المورفومترية لأسماك نوعي الفلوكوزا والمينا وجد أن هناك ثلاث صفات فقط يمكن استخدامها في التمييز بين النوعين وهي : طول قاعدة الزعنفة الظهرية ـ طول المسافة ما قبل الزعنفة الشرجية وطول المسافة خلف العين. وبمقارنة نوعي أسماك السمارس والمينا وجد أن جميع الصفات المورفومترية يمكن الرجوع إليه للتمييز بين النوعين ما عدا ثلاث صفات وهي : الطول الشوكي وطول ما قبل الزعنفة الظهرية وطول ما قبل الزعنفة الظهرية وطول قاعدة الزعنفة الظهرية .
