Innovation is one of the efficiencies and increase agricultural production by improving its competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets. The article assesses the current state of innovation development of agriculture and agribusiness in general, the basic indicators with an array: the volume of shipped product innovation, the volume of national expenses on research and development in agriculture, their sources of funding, as well as production and export of innovative products. The problems and prospects of development of innovation processes in agriculture are shown. The state program of innovative development on 2011-2015 assumes creation of the new enterprises and manufactures V-VI technological ways, modernization and creation of manufactures on the basis of introduction new energy and resource saving up technologies, and also technological re-equipment of manufactures. In total within the limits of the program more than 2 thousand objects of agriculture will be captured by modernization. The state program provides also formation and development of legislative base for realization of all stages of innovative activity, and also measures of its state support, including direct and indirect mechanisms. As a result of the study there was presented a complex of organizational, economic and social conditions which promote the development of innovation activities in the agro-industrial branch.
