The layer of rotted straw of flax, getting into crushing-and-scutching aggregate, is noticed with entanglement of stems. Thinning-out of the layer is carried out with the help of special layer-forming equipment, incurving stems and declining long flax fiber output. For improving of the process of stem dividing a special device – strick-forming machine is suggested in the article. Action principle of the device is based on interrelations of two bars: withholding and separating. Withholding bar with the help of cam box makes alternate moving in vertical plain and restraining the flax layer with the special tooth. The results of the theoretical researches of the retaining pawls unit's tooth top movement towards the feed gear tooth in the time of their relative movement are given. The method of calculation of the gear tooth's inclination angle is proved. Functional scheme of strick-separating device is presented. Calculative scheme of the mechanism of the withholding bar and trajectory of tooth's top is shown. The graph of calculation of the trajectory of the tooth's top depending on delivering disc is displayed.
