In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of the study of selection items of yellow lupine (Lupinus luleus) and blue lupine (Lupinus angustifolius) in a control nursery, obtained by methods of hybridization and intra-variety selection at the Department of Selection and Genetics of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy. The varieties were estimated according to the indicators of productivity, the content and output of protein. The best of them were selected for the further research according to the full scheme of selection process. Research results proved that protein productivity was in direct relationship with seed yielding capacity and protein content in seeds. The maximal protein productivity was only in case of combination in varieties of simultaneously high protein content and high seed yields. Yellow lupine showed lower yielding capacity indexes. Its average yields were on 7.4 centner/ha lower than the blue lupine yields. But yellow lupine plants had higher protein content in seeds (in average on 8.0% higher) that in blue lupine seeds. As a result of the realized study there were selected samples of both lupine varieties which were characterized by the highest yields and protein content in seeds and protein yield.
