In the conditions of farms of the Republic of Belarus there was determined the possibility of producing high-quality raw meat for baby food products due to veal from black-and-white cattle received in accordance with animal husbandry system 'cow-calf', in other words by means of calf rearing at foot by the technology of beef cattle breeding. Bull calves of black and white breed grown both in accordance with the technology of dairy farming (the control group), and by the system 'cow-calf' in all age periods, did not show any significant differences in growth and development at all age periods. Cost of feed per 1 kg of live weight gain in calves at foot was 4.3 fodder units, while in the control group the same indexes were higher by 9.3%.It is determined that calves of black-motley breed grown according to the system 'cow-calf' surpassed their coevals grown according to ordinary technology on live weight – by 12,9%, fresh carcass weight – by 21,8%, carcass meat content – by 1,3%.
