VALORACIÓN DE LA INVOLUCIÓN NEOPLASICA DEL TUMOR VENEREO TRANSMISIBLE, APLICANDO VINCRISTINA POR VÍA SUBCUTÁNEA E INTRAVENOSA

El tumor venéreo transmisible canino (TVT), también conocido como sarcoma transmisible canino, es una enfermedad de hallazgo común en los consultorios veterinarios de la ciudad de Pasto, Nariño. Esto se presenta con mayor frecuencia en perros callejeros o en caninos domésticos, que tienen acceso ilimitado al contacto con individuos portadores de TVT, siendo de esta forma altamente probable el contagio por monta directa, lamido u olfateo de lesiones tumorales. Tradicionalmente el tratamiento de elección para el tumor venéreo transmisible es la vincristina aplicada vía intravenosa, el cual a pesar de su eficacia presenta algunos inconvenientes con respecto de su administración. El propósito de este trabajo fue comparar la vincristina aplicada por vía subcutánea vs. vía intravenosa respecto del tiempo de involución de la masa neoplásica en pacientes caninos de la ciudad de Pasto, Nariño, diagnosticados con tumor venéreo transmisible. Se tomaron 14 caninos diagnosticados mediante citología exfoliativa, a los cuales se les realizó una aplicación semanal de vincristina, durante seis semanas. Durante este tiempo se evaluó la involución tumoral y la reacción local en la aplicación subcutánea. En el análisis de los resultados no se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los tiempos de involución tumoral completa en las dos vías de aplicación, por lo cual se concluye que la aplicación de vincristina por vía subcutánea para el tratamiento del tumor venéreo transmisible, es una buena alternativa para aquellos pacientes en donde la administración endovenosa no sea posible.

anglais. The canine transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), also known as canine transmissible sarcoma, is a disease commonly found in veterinary clinics in the city of Pasto, Nariño. This occurs most often in stray dogs or domestic dogs that have unlimited contact with carriers of TVT, thus being highly probable the infection by direct mounts, licking or sniffing of tumors. Traditionally, the treatment for transmissible venereal tumor is the vincristine injected intravenously, which despite its effectiveness it has some disadvantages with respect to its administration. The purpose of this study was to compare the vincristine injected subcutaneously vs the one injected intravenously, in relation to the time of involution of the neoplastic mass regression in canine patients diagnosed with transmissible venereal tumor in the city of Pasto, Nariño. Fourteen dogs diagnosed through exfoliative cytology were used for the study; weekly they were injected vincristine for a period of six weeks. During this time, the involution of the tumor and the local reaction to subcutaneous application was evaluated. The analysis of the results showed no statistically significant differences between the times of complete tumor regression in the two routes of application, whereby, it was concluded that the application of vincristine subcutaneously for the treatment of transmissible venereal tumor was a good alternative for those patients where intravenous administration is not possible.
