CARACTERIZACIÓN MORFOLÓGICA Y FANERÓPTICA DE LA CABRA APURIMEÑA PERUANA

anglais. 209 goats over 2 years old (44 males and 165 non-pregnant females) were randomly selected from five provinces in the Apurimac region of Peru: Abancay (17-31), Andahuaylas (9-36), Chincheros (7-31), Aymaraes (5-33) and Grau (6-34). All goats were evaluated to determine the state of homogeneity or heterogeneity and to describe their morphotype according to morphological character including 14 qualitative traits, 10 quantitative traits, and 9 zoometric indexes. This information is essential to develop and propose a breed description, and subsequently a breed standard. Results indicate that the Apurimeña goat has a eumetric phenotype, with a brevilineous to mediolineous trend. Frontonasal profile is straight (69.4%), horns are arched (53.6%) and coat color is generally spotted in different patterns (44.5%). The hair is short (86.6%), ears have medium length (57.4%) and are horizontal (49.3%). Most have a beard (60.8%), skin and mucous membranes are usually pigmented (82.3%) as are hooves (95.2%). There is a marked sexual dimorphism for the frontonasal profile and the type of horns (P0.05) while Chincheros and Abancay were most variable (P

Un total de 209 cabras mayores de 2 años de edad (44 machos y 165 hembras libres de preñez), elegidas al azar de cinco provincias de la región Apurímac de Perú: Abancay (17 y 31), Andahuaylas (9 y 36), Chincheros (7 y 31), Aymaraes (5 y 33) y Grau (6 y 34), respectivamente, fueron evaluadas para conocer el estado de su homogeneidad o heterogeneidad y poder describir así su morfotipo, con respecto a sus caracteres morfológicos cualitativos (14), cuantitativos (10) e índices zoométricos (9). Esta información será de vital importancia para desarrollar su prototipo racial y proponer, en un futuro, su consiguiente estándar racial. Los resultados indican que la cabra apurimeña se corresponde con un animal de formato eumétrico y tipo brevilíneo con tendencia mediolínea. De perfil frontonasal recto (69,4%), cuernos arqueados (53,6%) y color de la capa mayoritariamente manchado (44,5%) ─policromado en diferentes variedades─, pelo corto (86,6%), orejas medianas (57,4%) y horizontales (49,3%). Presenta perilla o barbilla (60,8%), piel y mucosas pigmentadas (82,3%) así como pezuñas (95,2%).
