PRIMERA CARACTERIZACIÓN FENOTIPICA DE LA OVEJA LOCAL KIMICHIN EN LA SIERRA NORTE DEL ESTADO DE PUEBLA

anglais. To characterize the different animal species, helps to identify a population with unique characteristics that differentiate it from others. The aim of this study is to characterize phenotypically the Kimichin sheep. This work was conducted in three municipalities in the Sierra North of Puebla: Zacatlán, Cuautempan and Tetela de Ocampo. For phenotypic characterization were considered zoometrics indices and morphometric measurements. The data were transported to Excel spreadsheets for analysis in the statistical program SAS. It was observed that the Kimichin sheep is a small animal, with no ears, very rustic, head straight profile and well adapted to adafoclimatic conditions in the region.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es el caracterizar fenotípicamente a la oveja Kimichin. Este trabajo fue realizado en tres municipios pertenecientes a la Sierra Norte del Estado de Puebla: Zacatlán, Cuautempan y Tetela de Ocampo. Para la caracterización fenotípica se consideraron índices zoométricos y medidas morfométricas. Los datos fueron trasportados a planillas Excel para su análisis en el programa estadístico SAS. Se pudo observar que la oveja Kimichin es un animal pequeño, sin orejas, muy rustico, de perfil cefálico recto y muy bien adaptado a las condiciones edafoclimaticas de la región.
