Economic study of possibilities of developing Egyptian exports of some horticulture crops to European markets

The European Union and especially after the expansion's largest trading partner for Egypt, The study aims to analyze the marketing status for the EU through the presentation of rules and principles governing the trade between Egypt and the EU countries under the umbrella of the European Partnership Agreement. As well as the study concentrated on the EU imports from Horticultural Crops from different from all nations of the world and Egypt to identify the most important of these crops which can increase the Egyptian exports to them. Through identify the determinants of demand for the European market for Egyptian exports of these crops. And identify the most important factors effecting the development of Egyptian exports of these horticultural crops to the European market. The study explain that tomatoes, grapes, mandarin oranges and potatoes are the most important horticultural crops imported by the EU and Egypt has a comparative advantage in production, respectively, relative importance was estimated at 4.66%, 3.43%, 3.25 %, 2.69%, 2.56% of the value of EU imports from the world of vegetables and fruits during the period (1995-2007). It was a study of fruit crops major Part II, Green Home in Chapter III and the factors affecting the external demand for crops under study in part IV and clear from section II of study of grapes, oranges, mandarin, it became clear that the ratio of imports the Eu from theses crops outside the European union is 41.5%, 71.6%, 17.5%, respectively, and part III shows that vegetable crops are tomatoes, potatoes and green beans. Tomatoes is the second largest crop of European Union ,s imported all over the world. In section IV in its first chapter examining the factors affecting the external demand for grapes, found that the most important markets grape is England, followed by France and the statistical demand functions shows that the main determinants of the import market, the English grape is the price of grapes, Chile and the price of American exports, the grape import from South Africa and Chile and per capita income of the French and the most important periods for grapes Egyptian into these markets, the first of May to mid-July and the most important competitor countries are Chile, South Africa and America. In the second chapter of Part IV to study the factors affecting the external demand for orange of the key European markets shows that Germany, France and England is the largest EU countries import orange, respectively, and statistical demand are functions, for the German market show that the average price of exports to Morocco and Argentina, Uruguay are the factors affecting the request of the European Union from Egyptian orange and the most important state competition for Egypt, Morocco and study the seasonal monthly imports of the German market of orange indicate that the period of duty-free is the first of December at the end of May and that South Africa's largest exporter of orange summer and Morocco are the main competitor for Egyptian orange.
