Determination and evaluation of tocopherols specialy á-tocopherol in some promissing sunflower lines for selecting of superiour lines

This project was conducted to evaluate á-tocopherol contents of some promising sunflower lines and combinations for selecting of superiors. 17 superior back cross of sunflower were selected to determine á-tocopherol. After oil extraction, á _ Tocopherol of the samples was analyzed by HPLC in 3 replications, using a complete randomized design. Oil percent was determined with NMR. Results showed that the samples had significant differences at 1% level probability. Also the results showed that BHaF80-436 with mean of 54.62 % had the highest oil percent and BHaF80-460 with mean of 1233 mg/kg oil had the highest level of á-tocopherol. Also the lowest content of oil percent and á-tocopherol belonged to BHaF80-460 and BHaF80-536, respectively. The samples had almost the same tocopherol profiles and á-tocopherol was predominant.
