In order to find sesame line producing high yield, a number of sesame genotypes including pure-lines obtained from landraces germplasm and segregating populations, were evaluated in a RCBD with three replications for two years. They were 25 and 20 genotypes in in Karaj and Moghan, respectively. Each plot was consisted of four 5 meter rows spaced in 60 cm with intra-row spaced set on 10-15 cm . Important agronomic characteristics such as date of flowering, type of branching, number of capsule per node, number of capsules per plant , plant height and date of maturity were recorded. Analysis of variance was carried out for yield, number of capsules per plant, plant height, number of seeds per capsule and height of first capsule and the means were compared using Dunkan multiple range test. The highest seed yields, in Karaj were obtained from genotypes number 20,12 and 9 with 1459 , 1418 and 1411 kg/ha, respectively. And in Moghan, genotypes number 2 , 13 and 20 with 1865 , 1496 and 1495 kg/ha produced the highest yield, respectively.
