This article examines specific examples of resilience within rural Latvian transnational families, those with one or both parents working outside of Latvia. This study is based upon qualitative analysis of interviews with those family members remaining in Latvia, and points to specific examples of how perceptions and beliefs in one's self-efficacy as well as positive socially supportive family interactions are facilitative of the rural, transnational Latvian family members' resilience. Very important in facilitating resilience is also the social support provided by the local community, especially the local school system and other extracurricular activities provided for the children by the community with supportive adult engagement.
