Women in agricultural decision making: Pakistan's experience

The study aims to analyze the present status of female in agricultural decision making and to examine the existing family structure. The study was based on primary data collected in June 2008. The universe of the study was Malakand Agency of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. List of villages was prepared and one village Dargai was randomly selected. The selection of sample was based on the selection of every 5th house randomly in each street of the village. Hence, the sample size was 48 for this research study. The data revealed that women had little or no autonomy in many decision making process in the study area. Women are dominated not only by their husbands but also by many male members of the family. Majority of women are deprived of their due right of education.
