The application of selected methods for the evaluation of public spaces gave us information to compare two public spaces in the rural settlements of Hruboňovo and Podhorany. Similar and different features of both settlements were compared in the introduction, than the forms for inscribing data from observations were made. The observation was done on a weekday in August. The methodology of Šilhánková was applied - Behaviour mapping and Counting of movement of pedestrians, which showed more activity in Podhorany -people were more frequent there, but they also practiced a wider range of activities.
