Evaluation on metalaxyl sensitivity of Phytophthora infestans collected from the potato cultivation areas in northern Thailand was conducted on corn A agar. In this investigation, rye A agar can be appropriately substituted by corn A agar with parallel on both characters of fungal growth and metalaxyl sensitivity. Ninety percent of 30 isolates collected from Fang and SanSai districts, Chiang Mai province, and PhobPhra district, Tak province were identified to metalaxyl intermediate isolates. Only 3 isolates collected from Phob Phra district, Tak province and Phrao district, Chiang Mai province were metalaxyl sensitive isolates.
