During the period 2011-2013, Tobacco and Tobacco Products Institute conducted a study on the impact of permanent climate change on varietal traits and quality characteristics of 15 genotypes oriental tobacco. In terms of morphological characteristics height of the plants, leaves number and size of the middle harvesting stalk position is evidence that varietal samples tobacco crop 2012 is with less number of leaves than tobacco crop 2011 and there has been some consolidation of the leaves. The results obtained for yield per hectare, technological and chemical indicators of a tobacco confirmed the need for this approach throughout the process for each variety group Prilep and Basma to achieve full manifestation the quality characteristics of dry tobacco.
