Comparison of Machine Planting Method and Traditional Planting Method on Yeild and Quality of Sugar Beet in Small Farms

To compare the effects of machine planting (row) with traditional planting methods, on quality and quantity of product characteristics of sugar beet in small farms (sub-Maliki systems), an experiment during two years (2007 and 2008) in Karaj & Kerman Brdsyr was conducted. How to seed planting and irrigation method with eight level & four replicates in a randomized complete block design was studied. The treatments studied include: T1-traditional cultivation & basin irrigation, T2-planting seed with Jandyr seedder with 50 cm row spacing and irrigation leaks, T3- planting with pneumatic seedder with 50 cm row spacing and irrigation leaks, T4, T5, T7- planting with Plant Jonier respectively with 30, 40 and 50 cm spacing rows in the ground smooth without to create the furrow, with the irrigation basin and T6, T8 - cultivation with Plant Jonier, respectively with a distance of rows 40 and 50 cm on on the stack, with basin irrigation. After planting, the first and second irrigation for proper emergence interval and then do little to end the growing season irrigation treatments as plots closed after 90 mm evaporation from class A evaporation pan surface was performed. At the end of the growing season, using a square meter quadrate area and randomly selected from different parts of the experimental plot was harvest and changes in product quality and quantity of yield of different treatments were studied.Combined results of analysis of variance (two years in both areas) done on the traits showed that effec of treatments on root yield & sugar yield was significant. treatment (T5) produced 67.9 tons of root and 12.4 tons sugar yield and 10.4 tons white sugar yield per ha in the highest yield among treatments found. Treatment effect on product quality traits such as sugar content, impurities of roo, molasses and sugar extraction ability of the roots was not significant. The effect of location on sodium of roots, molasses & root yield was significant. The effect of Interaction between location & treatments on root yield, sugar yield & white sugar yield was significant. Mean total root yield in Karaj, 77.6 and in Kerman 39.3 tons per ha was.
