Introduction of new varieties of sugar beet (variety hybrid diploid polygerm jam - Rhizomania diseases tolerant)

Pathogenic agents such as root rots, nematode and Rhizomania much damage to sugar beet product is imported every year in the Khorasan razavi province. The controlling of disease resistant varieties of sugar beet has been important in recent years. Using these cultivars with the appropriate management of the farm has had a lot of success in controlling the diseases mentioned. Breeding activity is the production of commercial varieties of sugar beet at the Sugar Beet Seed Institute. They were competitive with the foreign varieties in the infection farms. They are adapted to suit the climate of the country. One of the multigerm cultivars has been named "JAM". This new variety compared with varieties of polygerm susceptibility to Rhizomania (IC cultivar) by Quantitative and qualitative characteristics. These varieties were planted in two regions of Khorasan ((Mashhad and Quchan)) at the half-hectare for each of the varieties in 1389. At the end of the harvest season and the roots of each cultivar were measured by quantitative and qualitative characteristics. The results showed that in infected fields, jam cultivar, the root yield, sugar yield, sugar content and sugar extraction rate had a significant advantage compared to IC cultivar. The average amount of sugar and molasses and impurities, cultivar jam was lower than the IC cultivar.
