: Collecting and identification of willow pests and natural enemies Fauna in West Azarbaijan.

The natural habitats of willow trees are one of the renewable and fast growing resources in West Azarbaijan. Unfortionatly variouse species of willows are attacked by different pests that cause low quality and quantity of wood. During 2004-2008, the fauna of willow trees were evaluated at 15 day intervals starting in May to October. In order to to sampling, 4 branches of each tree were studied. Based on the results, 44 species of the pests were collected on willow trees, that 4 species was known as key pests, as well as, 12 species of ٨١ natural enemies were collected and identified.Suceptibility and resistance of 9 species of willow trees to important pests were determined in Saatloo station. Salix excelsa and S.aegyptiaca respectively showed the most susceptible and resistant species to Monosteira unicostata, also Salix excelsa had the most susceptible to Pontania vesicator and Salix aegyptiaca was resistant to this pest.
