Evaluation of extraction rate of essential oil from damask rose in both conventional and industrial methods

Rose water and essential oil produced in Kashan region makes up part of their income. This product is both conventional and industrial production that affects the quantity and quality of essential oil and rose water. Studies on quantitative and qualitative characteristics of rose water and rose essential oils showed that in the conventional method of extracting oil, more oil remains in the produced rose water, while the oil extracted in the industrial methods has more active ingredients than in conventional method. Rose essential oil production in the studied area of Kashan showed more oil in Ghamsar and Sedeh. Rose water of Barzouk area showed higher quality in terms of active ingredients contained in its essence.
