Study on the effects of summer prunning and calcium phosphat on color improvement and other qualitative characteris of red delicious apple after storage in Semirom

Red delicious apple quality characteristics and its skin color were studied when fruit is subjected to calcium phosphat (senophus) and summer pruning treatments. Statistical testn were carried out in semirom using complet randomized bloc design with 3 replications. In each bloc , 6 treatments were applied in a fallowing way. 1:pruning on august 6,2: pruning on august 21,3: Blank, 4:senophus 8/1000, 5: senophus 10/1000, 6: senophus 12/1000. Each square contains 3 trees. 15 kg of fruit was randomly gathered from each square. Firmness, skin color, acidity , TSS, marketability, bitter rot, rotting and farinaceous texture of fruit were measured after 2 and 4 months of storage at 4o C and 95% of humidity . Results showed that treatments effect on measured parameters was significant at 1% level. Significant difference was observed between blank and other treatments in view point of skin redness. The highest redness belonged to 12/1000 concentration of senophus treatment . After 2 months of storage , firmness, marketability , farinaceous texture and bitter rot of fruits subjected to senophus treatments and summer pruning treatment are changed significantly comparing to those of blank fruit. After 4 months of storage , results showed that there is a significant difference between 12/1000 concentration of senophus treatment and other treatments including blank treatment . Rotting , farinaceous texture and bitter rot of blank and summer pruning resulted fruits after 4 months of storage and one week of storage at 20o C , showed them significantly different, with senophus treatments. Acceptable firmness and marketability of fruit are obtained by using senophus treatment with 10/1000 and 12/1000 concentrations . Keywerds: Red delicious . skin color . senophus .
