Banana is one of the common and widely grown fruit crops in the Philippines. It is also one of the country's major dollar earners, and has consistently ranked next to coconut oil and prawns in terms of value earnings during the last five years. Bananas abound in hundreds of edible varieties that fall under two distinct species: the sweet banana (Musa sapienta, Musa nana) and the plantain banana (Musa paradisiacal). Sweet bananas vary in size and color. The Banana Information System is a web-based information system that shows up the major information on banana in the web. It provides information to develop banana production and also deals with the varieties, pest/diseases of banana. The design and development of the Banana Information System provides reliable source and informative web-based Information System for agricultural farmers and non-farmers to easily access information through internet. Through the online information system provides faster information dissemination about banana. This therefore measures on the perception and extent of producers and farmers. The web-based system is measured based on information quality, system quality and system use. The agriculturist and farmers served as respondents to the study.
