A study was conducted to compare the efficacy of some insecticides on cotton crop at Adaptive Research Farm Rahim Yar khan during 2010 and 2011 against cotton Jassid Amrasca devastans (Dist.). Experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Eight insecticides viz. Imadicloprid 20 SP (625 g per ha), confider 200SL (625 ml per ha), Acetamiprid 20SP (375 g per ha), Acetamiprid 20SL (375 ml per ha), Acephate 75 SP (875 g per ha) chlorfenypar (Pirate) 360SC (250 ml per ha), Actara WP (60 g per ha) and Dimethoate 40 EC (1000 ml per ha) were evaluated for their efficacy against cotton Jassid. Acephate 75 SP and Dimethoate 40 EC proved to be the most effective in reducing Jassid population below ETL (Economic Threshold Level) (1/ leaf) up to seven days after application during both years. Maximum yield was obtained by Acephate (75 SP) during both the year's i.e. 2832 kg per ha in 2011 and 3588 kg per ha in 2010.
