In recent decades the area of forest land has been increasing continuously and is involved mainly in the afforestation of unused agricultural land, conversion of agricultural land covered by forest-tree species (so-called white areas), as well as the gradual matching of records of forest land with land registers in the reconstruction programs of care for the forests. The thesis deals with the possibilities of using modern remote sensing approaches in dealing with the identification and classification of white areas and solving incompatibility between land registers and the actual situation in the field at the boundary of cadastral lands of Sielnica and Sliac - Hajniky. The aim of work was the identification of non-complying land from the current orthophotos of the area and condition of the specific land in the real estate register, the automatic execution of object-oriented classification of forest stands using the software Definiens. Five areas of interest were selected from the non-complying lands. Borders of these areas were focused on photogrammetric stereo models with different geometric resolution, on oblique photos and in the field by using GNSS with RTK methods. This was followed by evaluating ways of identification of borders, their accuracy and the consequent effect on the calculated area. In this aspect, good utility has been demonstrated in the interpretation of border land at the boundaries of forest and agricultural land just from the oblique photos. DTM and DSM from aerial laser scanning data were used to calculate the mean height of stands located in areas of interest. Based on the identified areas and the mean heights, it was proposed reclassification of all five areas of interest in the real estate register and the proposed change was to convert these areas from agricultural land to forest land.
