The work deals with the change of tree species composition and height growth in the sessile oak and hornbeam forest (group of forest types Carpineto-Quercetum) during two-year period in the advance growth phase when the growth dynamics and autoreduction is the highest. The initial number of individuals of natural regeneration was very high within the range between 470 000 pcs.haE-1 - 890 000 pcs.ha.E-1. Research has shown significantly higher autoreduction of a sessile oak (48% - 71%) in different light condition than there was of hornbeam. Despite of tree seed crops of both tree species in the same year, the height growth of hornbeam is more rapid in the individual and small-scale mixing. Correlation between height category, and tree height increment confirmed that sessile oak height growth is significantly lower than the height growth of hornbeam. This fact was confirmed by high category 20-50cm. The difference in height increments of sessile oak and hornbeam was higher in the next hight category.
